Ko wai au? Who am i

Karl Daniela owner and operater of Maurimovers.

My whakapapa is very extensive which weave through the Pacific islands and western Europe. My maori connection are to Ngati Haua of Te Rarawa and Te Arawa of Ngati Tuwharetoa.

Born and raised in the lush embrace of the northernmost reaches of New Zealand, my journey has been deeply rooted in the rhythms of the land and the whispers of the ocean. For the past five years, my path has been woven with the sacred practice of Honohono—a journey of connection, healing, and profound presence.

In the realm of Honohono, I walk with grounded footsteps and an open heart. My practice is anchored in deep listening, a skill that allows me to meet others exactly where they are. I believe that true understanding grows from empathy, and I share my own stories as bridges of connection, creating spaces where others feel seen, heard, and understood. Through these shared experiences, I help guide transitions and transformations with compassion and care.

My love for Honohono has blossomed over time, each moment of learning deepening my bond with Spirit, the Creator, Papatuanuku, and the quiet wisdom of my own intuition. These sacred connections are my guiding stars—steadfast allies that illuminate the path of healing. They remind me that healing is not a destination but a journey, one that is nurtured through presence, trust, and reverence for the unseen.

It is my calling and my joy to walk alongside others on their healing journeys, offering guidance that is both gentle and strong, rooted in love and inspired by the timeless wisdom of our ancestors and the living world around us.

Experience Our Expertise

Traditional Maori Healing

At Mauri Movers, we are proud to offer traditional Maori healing and bring Taonga (gifts) from times past into our modern day.

Karl is trained in Rongoā Maori Practices:

  • Honohono (energetic, Wairua);

  • Mirimiri (surface layer issues); and

  • Romiromi (deeper layers of stored trauma)

Each individual practice has its targeted areas, and these are powerful tools to release physical, mental, and emotional tension that show up as energetic blockages, stagnation, or external cords of attachment.

Rongoā is about natural wellness. It is based on the belief that health is interconnected with physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and community well-being. By addressing the root causes of illness this promotes balance and harmony in the mind, body, and spirit.

Commissioned Taonga(gifts)

Commissioned spiritual tools or wearables are arranged by appointments.

Yoga & Pranayama

In addition to traditional Maori healing, we also offer slow flow, yin yoga and breathwork classes to help you achieve greater awareness, deeper sense of connection to self and state a calm.

  • Slow flow yoga focuses on sensation, alignment, flow, and breath.

It's a gentler yoga flow that really allows connection to self and space to embody each asana(postures) as we transition through the practice.

  • Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that focuses on holding poses for longer periods of time to stretch the connective tissues and deeper layers in the body.

  • Breathwork, pranayama, and Kriya involves conscious control of the breath to learn how to up or down regulate the nervous system. Tune in to the body and bring a sense of presence or grounding.

Karl will guide you through these practices to help you find your own rhythm, inner peace and balance.
